PDN Detach with Offline and Online rules

The following call flow and procedure describes the Usage report in Session Deletion Response.

Step Description

UE/Network Initiated delete session is detected at SMF.

N4 Delete Session Request or Response is exchanged to delete the session and in turn Usage report is received in the N4 Delete session Response.

SMF sends GTPP Data Transfer Request with or without SDF Containers.

  • If the offline Usage report is received in the N4 Session Deletion Response, then SMF sends the GTPP Data Record Transfer Request for default with SDFs container(with volume usage and serviceConditionChange—one for each RG+service ID.

  • If the offline Usage report is received without measurement in the N4 Session Deletion Response and no offline Volume/Time threshold usage report received before detach, then the GTPP Data Record Transfer message with GTPP server.

  • If any offline Volume/Time threshold Usage report is received before detach and no offline Usage report in the N4 Delete Session Response received, then the GTPP Data Record Transfer gets exchanged without SDF Containers for record closure.

SMF receives GTPP Data Record Transfer Response from the GTPP server.
