Offline SDF or Online URRs Usage Report

For the Volume/Time threshold detected at UPF, the UPF prepares the Usage report with VOLTH/TIMTH for online URR or offline SDF level URR. The following call flow and procedure describes the Asynchronous Usage report for online or offline Bearer Recalculation.

Step Description

UPF initiates N4 Session report Exchange with SMF.

N4 Session Report Request or Response Exchanges between UPF and SMF occur with an online/offline Volume/Time threshold.

SMF sends GTPP Data Transfer Request with SDF Containers.

  • If the Offline usage report is received in N4 Session Deletion Response, then SMF sends the GTPP Data Record Transfer Request for default with SDFs container(with volume usage and serviceConditionChange—one for each RG+service ID only if the maximum charging condition is hit.

  • If the Offline usage report received is without measurement for the SDF level time threshold in the N4 Session Report Request, then the GTPP Data Record Transfer message does not get exchanged with OFCS.

SMF receives GTPP Data Record Transfer Response from OFCS.

SMF sends Gy CCR-U with one or multiple MSCCs (for each RG+Service ID) to the OCS.

SMF receives Gy CCA-I with quota, triggers for each RG+Service ID.

SMF sends N4 Session Modification Request to the UPF.

The update URR-with quota for required online URRs and update URR – with bearer recalculate for offline bearer level URR is sent.
